“极其糟糕”

We arrived at the whale‑watching spot at 8 pm and had to lug our luggage uphill along a broken main road to the hotel, where there was no one at the front desk until the owner finally appeared after we shouted for ages. The room was so tiny that two people could barely stand inside, and the bathroom was dreadful—the toilet, sink and water heater were all in terrible condition. The owner tried to charge us 1,000 pesos to arrange a car for a 1.9 km, three‑minute ride to the pier and wouldn’t budge, and demanded 500 pesos just to use the washing machine. This was by far the worst part of our trip to the Philippines.

The place sits close to the tourist spots, but the CR lacks an exhaust fan or window, letting the odor from the CR seep through.

“Unpleasant, would not recommend.”

When we checked in the room was filthy: eyelashes were stuck to the bathroom mirror and most of the space was dust‑covered. The air‑con was noisy and kept abruptly switching between hot and cold. We woke up with bites that seemed like bed bugs. There were no clothing irons, and we had to wait 40 minutes because other guests were using the hotel’s iron. The balcony was dirty, the view didn’t justify the price, and the toilet was rusty and grimy.

We were initially drawn to the hotel's good location and reasonable price, but our experience was soured by a series of frustrating interactions with the staff. Getting a decent blanket was a hassle, and we were told that we had to pay extra for a second sheet. The staff seemed perpetually unhappy to see us, and the room lacked basic utilities like a towel hook. It was a bit of a rough night, but it was tolerable for a one-night stay.

We were looking forward to a hassle-free stay, but things took a turn when we were told that breakfast was not included, despite our booking clearly stating otherwise. The staff seemed confused and firm in their stance, which left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. It's clear that there was a miscommunication between management and staff, and we hope that this issue won't affect future guests.
