Despite the negatives, the value for money was great. The room matched the photos exactly, and there is underfloor heating (ask the hotel to activate it in advance). Breakfast is great, and the views from the pigeon valley are nice. The road to get there is a little narrow and only has a few parking spots on the side. The staff were an issue. We had to ask for the heating and sort it out ourselves after the guy said it would be working in 5 minutes. The person who did the check‑in basically ran away without explaining anything, except opening the door. They said it was a family‑run business, but it didn’t look that way.

“Top locatie!”

I stayed in room 777. The location is 10. The interior is superb, the breakfast delicious, served on the roof with a superb view. At night the view is just as superb. Starting at 5:30 the balloon departures begin, making it hard to sleep. There are major drainage problems – practically I couldn’t take a shower because it flooded. Some towels should be removed from use.

“Okay place for a night maybe.”

The hotel’s location is great, and the staff are helpful and warm. I received a message before my stay to confirm arrival and to see if I needed help booking transfers, activities, etc. The options offered were slightly more than I had seen elsewhere, so I decided to arrange my own transfer and activities. The restaurant has great views and you can see the balloons in flight if you wake up early. It’s also central in Uchisar, so many restaurants and shops are just a few minutes walk away. Views in the area are incredible. Wi‑Fi is great and useful, as the network was patchy once you entered the rooms. A few things: the bathroom smell was uncomfortable and I had to request daily cleaning to help with it. I understand being a cave the ventilation isn’t great, but maybe they can invest in baking soda and incense to help? Bed and bedding are basic, just comfortable enough to sleep if the bathroom stench doesn’t waft through the door. Breakfast is just okay, not many options, and the coffee was weak; I had to add extra sachets to the offered option. Not somewhere I’d personally want to stay again, unfortunately, even though the staff are friendly.

The spot is spot on, with a terrace overlooking the castle and the pigeon valley, lit up by a thousand lights at night. The buffet breakfast is varied and tasty, prepared by a friendly lady, and the room and bathroom are just fine.
