Hotel Garden sits on Praia a Mare’s seafront, offering a private beach and easy access to the town centre and nightlife. Rooms feature handcrafted local furnishings, balconies with sea‑or hill views, air‑conditioning, flat‑screen TVs and free Wi‑Fi. The on‑site restaurant serves Italian and Calabrian cuisine, with garden and beach seating. Concierge arranges boat trips, rafting and hiking; the train station is a three‑minute walk away.

We could park on the property. The common areas were fine. The room and bathroom were VERY basic and needed some TLC, they look run down.

The spacious layout is clean, the staff is friendly, the sea‑side location is perfect, the kitchen is amazing.

Hotel: The hotel is small, cozy, everything is done with care. The grounds are magnificent, full of flowers, plants, and in a corner there are turtles. A gardener watches over everything, watering and trimming daily, generally caring with love – the garden is very well maintained. The rooms are cozy, have a balcony, a good large bathroom. Staff: The staff is responsive, all very polite. The difficulty was communication because I don’t speak Italian. The staff mainly speaks Italian but at reception there is a very friendly woman named Irena, she is the only one who speaks English. Also there is a male chef who also cooks well in English. The owner and his wife were always on site and controlled everything, a very sweet, friendly couple. Beach: The beach is really close, you could say in the hotel, if you don’t count the small crossing over the road. The beach is really good, good loungers and umbrellas. But… for me it was news that on a day two loungers and an umbrella cost 20€. Also, the beach where the loungers are, really sandy as stated on the website, but near the sea there are large stones, so you’ll need special swimming sandals. Food: Breakfast was tasty, lots of sweets, there was scrambled eggs, bacon, boiled eggs and a lot more. Also the hotel has a restaurant and a terrace on top. The terrace is very pretty, especially at sunset.
