“Peaceful and a reset.”

The place is great for getting back to nature, the peace is unbeatable, and the chap who helped us in his jeep was fantastic. I think it would be useful to give more guidance to city folks like me, such as telling us to fetch water from the tap using the provided containers, noting that shops close out of season so bring food, and reminding us about the compost toilets. These details are in your brochure, which I picked up on the island, but a few more pointers would help. Thanks anyway; it was a unique experience I hope will stay with me for a long time.

“Lovely island!”

I appreciate that you can walk straight down to the sea from the cabin to swim, plus the other swimming spots on Grinda. I know it’s the end of the season, but I wasn’t sure which places were open for food and drink; Wärdshuset and the Café were open, but Framfickan was closed.

“Für alle die es einfach mögen: top!!!”

I found the place absolutely magical and charming, with everything you could possibly want. The Sealodge itself is simple, but the attached restaurant is fantastic. Otherwise, you could also opt for the hotel and the harbor restaurants. The mattresses, however, need to be replaced – they were sagging and made it uncomfortable to sleep on the hard wood floor.

The cottage is in the middle of the forest, has a kitchen and utensils, and the pre‑check‑in communication and information were perfect. The toilet and shower are outside, which is fine in principle, but I missed having a sink to brush my teeth. I rented a bath towel and bedding, which I had to pick up at the reception in the evening, and I felt a bit like a bother. I didn’t feel very welcome.

The location, ruggedness, quietness, and nature were all great. Unfortunately, the outdoor gym and sea lodge were closed, and there was no prior notice; you only learn about return trip timetables via the internet. The mattresses were very bad.
