The place was in a decent spot and the sheets were clean, but that was about it. The room was a nightmare – roaches everywhere, both dead and alive, crawling on the beds. The mattresses had springs poking out, and the kitchenette was missing most of the cutlery and crockery. Overall, it felt run‑down and was the worst stay I've ever had.

We never actually stayed at Bayswater; a room issue sent us to the Arabella instead. The Arabella was fine – clean, comfy, and the staff were helpful, and it was a good deal for what we paid. The downside was that we had booked Bayswater because the Tweed Day Surgery was just 100 m away, and now we had to walk over a kilometre to the surgery and back, which was a hassle and not what we had planned.

The bed was comfortable, but the overall experience was underwhelming. The place looked dated and didn't feel worth the price. Reception was empty for a while, so we waited 15 minutes to check in. There was a police presence at night due to an incident, and the bathroom floors were slick, making it hard for me—being eight months pregnant—to get in and out of the shower.

Everything matched what we needed: good location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and the weather was just right.
