The hotel was very tidy in a fairly quiet part of Fort Portal; we booked the cheapest room, which was small but clean, had a comfortable mattress and hot water, and the breakfast was excellent—overall value was great compared to other Ugandan lodgings. On the downside it was a bit noisy, both from the staff and other guests, and the hallway sounds were loud.

The accommodation was conveniently situated just 5 minutes from the centre, easy to locate, and the staff were pleasant and helpful; however, the layout of the rooms made the area noisy when some guests left their rooms in the early hours, slammed doors and talked loudly, ignoring the quiet‑hours rule. On one of the three days I was there, a neighbour stepped into the hallway, shouted on the phone for about 15 minutes while banging the door and dragging a chair, which was unacceptable, and there was no coffee or bread offered at breakfast.

The stay was good, but the kitchen closes a bit too early for late arrivals, and there’s no safe nearby catering alternative.

The receptionist was amazingly helpful and booked all our transport home for Easter, but I had trouble paying by credit card on the exit; cash is king…just don’t advertise that you accept credit cards if you don’t actually take them.
