It was okay for a quick night. The smell and cleanliness were lacking.

The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. They even refunded my second night when I changed plans, which I didn’t expect. The location isn’t the best and the room smelled like cigarette smoke.

“Épouvantable”

There was a laundry room and a food dispenser, and a metro was a 10‑minute walk away. My room was never cleaned during my stay even though I left a sign asking for it; the sheets were not changed. The staff only changed the trash and gave me towels and a water bottle before I arrived. I received a message saying the place hadn’t been renovated in a while and might be a bit old. When I entered the room, there were mold patches on the walls, the bed creaked with every movement, a window overlooking the hallway had spider webs on the walls—basically a nightmare; I spent more time outside than inside.

“Shanghai leckes Essen und niedliches Kosten.”

The location was good. The apartment had no window and was very small and dark. We paid extra to switch to a hotel room with a window.

“Bof”

The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had booked this hotel after seeing many comments saying it was ideally located, but in reality it’s about 1h30 from the “center” of Shanghai where the life, monuments and sites to visit are. The room smelled of cigarette and mold, it was horrible. In terms of cleanliness, it was okay.
