Everything was excellent—from the staff and the food to the spa, the bedroom and the beautiful grounds. Everything was clean, comfortable and wonderful. Honestly, our stay was pretty much perfect. We even left our swimsuits in the bedroom, and the hotel kindly mailed them to us. They arrived a couple of days later, which was such a thoughtful touch. We can’t wait to go back!

We really appreciated the consistently attentive and friendly staff. A few days before arrival, Christina called us and was very helpful. On site, Carolin took care of us and was exceptionally kind and accommodating, making our stay delightful. The beautiful property and the historically styled rooms also left a good impression. We liked the personal name tags on the rooms and the little birthday surprise we received as a guest. What didn’t convince us was the value for money in some areas. In particular, the spa needed more maintenance and cleaning. We know the pool is protected, but the outdoor area still needs repair. Both whirlpools were in urgent need of fixing, as they had no jets. The chairs and loungers also required more regular and thorough cleaning. Several of our orders included dirty teapots and/or glasses. Breakfast could be improved: although it’s served until 10 am, around 9 am it was sometimes not refilled, and only after asking were dishes restocked.

It was pricey, but the high standard made it worthwhile. We had a short stay but were impressed by the service right from the start. The facilities were lovely and the Junior Suites were wonderful. The staff, however, were quite rude and blunt in email before the stay and didn’t accommodate reasonable requests.
