The area is great; the Vatican Museums are a 10‑minute walk, and train, metro, and bus stops are just a few minutes away. Grocery stores, small shops, and good restaurants are nearby. It’s a bit annoying, or you have to get used to it, that the bathroom/toilet has no door. The accommodation is on a staircase, halfway up from the lower or upper route. Not recommended for people who can’t climb stairs; you have to go up about 3‑4 floors in either direction.

The spot was close to the Vatican, but beware: I booked a “Deluxe Suite” and got a loft closet with no door lock, inside or out. The ceiling slanted so my husband couldn’t stand up. The listing promised shower, coffee, mini‑bar, hairdryer, trash bin, but none were included. I had to double‑check that my booking had a lockable door, because no key was provided. There was no staff on site, and they said “people would respect our privacy.” The bathroom had a glass‑brick wall and a view from the toilet that let me see my husband picking from the outside unit stairwell. The curtain over the glass was held up by three tacks and didn’t cover anything. The room did have two condoms and a box knife in the nightstand, neither of which were listed.
