The view of the beach was spectacular, and the room was spotless. Walking to the shore takes only a few minutes, and there are several excellent restaurants along the beach for those who prefer to stay local without a car. Taxis to Lagos centre cost very little and take just 5‑10 minutes. As surfers, we rented boards from central Lagos and had them delivered to the apartment because Porto do Mos beach lacks surf shops. It’s a great beginner surf spot if you don’t need lessons and just want to step into the waves from your lodging. When the swell comes, it could be pretty intense, but the beach itself is beautiful. It would have been convenient to store the boards in a secure spot in the garage to avoid carrying them up and down the stairs, but I’m sure Svetan could have arranged that. Breakfast on the balcony was a highlight: Svetan baked a gluten‑free egg and cheese flan for me, which we savored with freshly squeezed orange juice. I also loved the Jacuzzi bubble bath.
