“If it's available, stay here!”
I loved every part of my stay here. The location was far enough away to stay peaceful all the time, but close enough to everything I wanted to explore; each morning’s breakfast was abundant and varied, with coffee, orange juice, pastries/toast, meats and cheese, egg, yogurt, muesli, etc., all well presented; the room was comfortable for me traveling alone, and even as a couple there was plenty of space and seating; the decor and art around the hallway and room were wonderful too; if you have mobility issues, the stairs may be a problem, so just be aware; the absolute best part of the stay is Annigje and Alexander, the hosts—they’re very welcoming and will interact with you as much or as little as you’d like; for this part of my trip I was traveling solo so I appreciated the company; I was here to visit the Netherlands American cemetery in Margraten, and I had chances to swap stories with them and their family memories; we stayed up late talking into the evening about all sorts of topics and it was very refreshing; as an American in a rural Dutch village, it was great to converse in English, as their English is A+; I would not hesitate to stay here again when I return with my family; although I use Airbnb frequently, this stay is an actual Bed and Breakfast with hosts in their own home, like the good old days. There wasn’t much that I didn’t like; as I mentioned, some people may be put off by the stairs, but it is very common in most of Europe to save space, and only an American would find them odd.
