The meals were incredibly delicious and the staff were exceptionally friendly, though I think adding Prime Video or similar services to the TV would make it even better.

Very authentic traditional Japanese stay; the included dinner was incredible, the family who own it were helpful and friendly and offered free shuttle service to the station, and the traditional bath house was awesome. It is hidden away in the back of Matsumoto so there is nowhere to walk or view once you arrive at the hotel; I needed to see out of the room, which I could, just onto another street. The outside area is lovely to sit in though.

The welcome, the personnel and the private bath were all great, but the overall comfort left something to be desired.

I loved the food and the traditional rooms with tatami mats and futons, yet the place was quite a distance outside the city.
