The price‑to‑quality ratio was inadequate; the double room had two separate single beds and a small coffee table, nothing else. The linen was clean but the beds were uncomfortable. The small bathroom had a shelf under the mirror that was too low to hold anything, and the toilet was so close to the sink that items placed on the shelf would fall straight into the toilet. This room cost 50 €; similar apartments in central Bulgaria cost half that. A man (either the owner or a guard—unclear) greeted us. There was a shared kitchen with a fridge, but it was industrial, not domestic, and the beverage display had no freezer, so we couldn’t freeze items we’d bring on the road. There was no kettle, microwave, or other appliance for heating food or making coffee. We arrived at 9 pm and left at 7 am. The man who met us said the kettle would only be available at 8 am when the housekeeper arrived. The price‑to‑quality‑comfort ratio was inadequate, but the hotel is the only one on the long stretch from Turkey to Bulgaria; the nearest hotels are in Burgas, several hours away. Given the location, the hotel clearly overcharges.
