The lift to the rooms meant we didn’t have to haul our luggage up the stairs, and the room was large and spacious. However, the mattress was very hard, like sleeping on the floor or a wooden plank. The white bed sheet had stains and mildew, and I was so disgusted I slept in the bedding I brought from home. The glass cups in the room were not clean, indicating the place isn’t really cleaned properly.

The seating corner in the room was nice. The cleanliness was poor: hair on the bed, used underwear in the shower, weak water flow in the shower, and the sink didn’t drain.

My partner fell ill just before arriving in Ha Giang, so we had to postpone the loop. The lady running this hostel gave him flu medicine and ginger tea on arrival and checked in each day to see how he was recovering. The property was well‑located and clean.
