Ella Morning Sunshine

We loved our stay here, and the highlight was the owner Nimantha and his wife. They served an amazing breakfast—a huge plate of food that changed daily. Nimantha took us around Ella in his tuk‑tuk, pointed out the best café near the Nine Arches, and the best walking route into Ella. He also took us to an incredible waterfall where you can swim in the pool. We liked everything.

A small family hotel run by Nimantha and his wife, who might be the warmest hosts of our Sri Lanka trip. The rooms are clean, the bedding very comfortable, which is great after long hikes, and the breakfast is hearty and tasty. You can reach Ella’s city centre in 20 minutes. On the way, you’ll pass concrete stairs that you must take, saving a few minutes of walking. P.S. The rooms with hammocks hanging in mid‑air overlooking the stunning scenery are a nice touch. I highly recommend it. The only downside is that bathroom closets would be appreciated.

We arrived at Ella Morning Sunshine and were instantly welcomed by the host, who greeted us at the door, helped with our bags, and even offered to cook for us. The meals turned out to be some of the best we tasted on our trip. The next day, he took us on a tour of Ella, showing all the top food spots and even leading us to hidden places where we could safely feed monkeys—a truly unique memory. He was kind, helpful, and genuinely wanted our stay to be special. The room was spotless and perfectly located near the center. I would 100% recommend staying here—everything was lovely from start to finish!

“A very quiet place abive Ella”

We appreciated the kindness of our host family and the quality of the breakfast. The only downside was that we didn't have time to join the cooking class our hostess offered, which is our sole regret. We'll make sure to stay longer next time.
