It was close to the railway station. The room seemed to belong to a secondary property operated by a larger hotel chain; it was around the corner, quite spartan, but had everything we needed to sleep and return to the station early the next morning. The taxi fare was high because there were many one‑way streets and the driver had to take long detours to reach the address.

We arrived as first‑time guests and didn’t realize the hotel sits in Geneva’s red‑light district, so the night was extremely noisy and it was hard to sleep, but the rooms were clean, comfortable, and cheap.

The location was good, but Saturday night was noisy; the streets below were loud at night because the windows were open for cool air—there was no air‑conditioning, the weather was very warm, and the noise kept going until the early hours, so I couldn’t sleep well.
