“Good breakfast. Room not great. Management altitude worse.”
The breakfast was really good. For some reason, despite booking a double room, I was handed a twin room and told to push the beds together myself. Later I found out that my booking had been changed without my request to move me closer to another room we’d booked; I didn’t want this and didn’t ask for it, and I wasn’t told about it at check‑in. Even worse, the twin room was boiling hot, the windows couldn’t be opened, and the air‑conditioning unit was broken. We were offered a room change, but it was nearly midnight so we didn’t bother. The room was generally tired and quite small. I emailed the manager right after our stay and had to chase a response twice over the course of a month. The reply I finally got was garbled, referring to “hoping the rest of my stay was enjoyable,” which felt like a template the manager hadn’t bothered to delete. That seemed fitting for the overall experience. I don’t think the hotel management really cares about the guests.
