Days Inn by Wyndham Portage Indiana Dunes National Park

Two lobby windows had plywood covering them, and a strong mold smell hit us as soon as we entered the lobby; the hallway carried that odor, and the room itself smelled and wasn’t very clean. We left the key cards in the room and checked out. This place should be shut down—it's absolutely disgusting!

“Like an old work truck no frills but gets the job done as it's intention.”

It fit within the budget I was given for work, and I liked how comfortable and clean the bed was. The bathroom was a bit dirty and the floor hadn’t been swept; the pool was closed due to storm damage, but that wasn’t disclosed when booking, which feels like deceptive advertising. I didn’t use the pool, but anyone planning to would be disappointed.

“Just ok. Wouldn’t stay longer than a night”

Convenient, but our non‑smoking room had a strong smoke smell—yuck. The breakfast was awful.

“Regretful.”

The place was a total dump, dirty and disgusting; I should have gotten a refund. I even left 4 days early from my week schedule to be there. The entire stay was awful.

“Absolutely crap. Was told we would get a refund and didnt. They basically stole our money.”

We never even stayed. The property had severe damage from a storm we weren’t aware of. The pool was down and not working, which was the whole reason we booked it for my son, so we ended up not staying. The guy at the service desk said he would refund us but we had to go first. We did, and they got ahold of them and now they’re saying we never reached an agreement. I will never book with or stay in this place again, especially after being told we would receive a refund and didn’t. Absolute disgrace. Everything!
