The lobby looked pretty both outside and inside, but the rooms were minimal and not great. Loud music and art in the lobby felt out of place; I’d rather feel the history. The staff were good, but there was no food service.

The place feels historic yet modern, with beautiful design choices and a touch of 80s flair. Not having an elevator that goes all the way up to the room made carrying luggage a bit of a challenge, but it was manageable.

The building is very beautiful, which was expected, but bats flew in front of it in the evening. Because there’s no controlled air‑conditioning in the room, the stay was unpleasant during the hot summer.

The room was roomy, and the architecture, art, and overall vibe of the hotel were top‑class. The staff were warm and professional. We liked that the hotel sat in a quiet square just outside the city centre. The room was only just cool enough for us, so we turned on the fan; adding air conditioning would have been a welcome upgrade. Breakfast was decent, but given the price we’d have preferred more hot items and some fruit, and there was no toaster so you could only have bread or rolls.
