Food and parking were good. Parking was far away, the hot spring was lukewarm, and there was no farewell when leaving the hotel.

“Stay was totally fine however privacy concern was there”

The staff behaved well and the property was clean. The in‑house bath was a bit exposed to the outside, giving a sense of a privacy break.

“Private onsen was stunning, not touristy”

The property feels old, yet the rooms are still beautiful in classic Japanese style; I stayed in a tatami room with mattresses on top, and all necessities were supplied. I used the fantastic private onsen on the balcony every day. There’s no train link, which keeps the area less touristy and more charming, but the hotel can still be reached by bus and ferry, both stopping just next to it. The private shower is only an outdoor one next to the onsen (inside showers are available in the public onsen), which worked fine for me but may not suit everyone.

“tres belle experience, Nishi Izu magnifique, recommende lever du soleil 5-6h du mat...magnifique”

The seaside spot was gorgeous, with an exceptional view and an outdoor bath in the room. The ryokan‑style upper rooms and the balcony spa were worth every yen and I’d give it 5 stars. It felt a bit old‑fashioned, a mix of old and new with a retro Showa vibe, and the reception toilet needed a lift, but everything else was top. The fish menu, with live crustaceans, was excellent, though those who are sensitive should avoid the live shellfish grilled on the BBQ.
