The hotel’s location is good, it stays clean, and the housekeeping, front desk, and restaurant staff are very polite. However, our experience was marred right from the start. We were invited to tour the resort, but it turned out to be a sales pitch for shares. Over nearly two hours of interaction, we repeatedly told them we needed time to consider the offer. We asked to take the document with us, but the person in charge tore it up, handed us a courtesy card, and asked someone else to escort us out. I explained that I couldn’t decide without reviewing the proposal carefully. The manager replied that, as a GAV share holder, he liked customers like us because we’d keep booking rooms. He said this in a crowded room, making the service feel disrespectful, embarrassing, and humiliating. Initially, a staff member handled us well, but the situation turned unpleasant only after the sales manager entered. On top of that bad first impression, the resort has accessibility issues: the elevator next to the restaurant is broken, so we had to carry the stroller several times to reach the pool. The alternative was to walk around the resort and use another elevator, but the path to the pool is rocky, which also hinders accessibility.
