The hotel sits in a prime spot close to the Blue Mosque and the staff were very welcoming. The breakfast on the top floor was excellent and offered fantastic views. However, construction across the street is building a new structure that will likely block the view of the Blue Mosque. I couldn’t get a twin room, so I slept on the floor. The air‑conditioning failed and mosquitoes made it hard to sleep, plus there was a slight bathroom odor.

The only thing we liked was the location of the run‑down hotel. We felt judged right from the start as a gay couple; the hotel was noisy all night, the shower filled with water that didn’t drain properly, blocked or clogged drainage, not to mention the mold. The old heater kept turning on, cooking us, and we couldn’t turn it off, so we turned the air‑conditioning on, which kept throwing a code up. The TV didn’t work, and then they said we had to pay by cash in euro or USD because their card machine wasn’t working, so they gave us a handwritten receipt.

The location and cleanliness are good, but payment in cash only, no card payment possible, they asked for a receipt and didn’t give it, and the hotel has no elevator.

I was treated to a stunning view from the breakfast room, which was a lovely touch. The scenery was truly breathtaking and set a great tone for my stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
