We loved the simple guesthouse – the room was spotless, the AC actually worked, and the staff were sweet and always ready to help. Being right on Main Street was super convenient, though we should warn future guests that on a Sunday night the town pretty much sleeps, so many shops stay closed.

My dad and I enjoyed Xterra Palm Guest House; the crew were welcoming, gave us solid restaurant tips, and the rooms stayed clean. Its spot right off the beach (under 100 yd) made it easy to explore Belize, and we could walk to Maximo, Jalapeno’s and Ella’s for tasty meals. The host was also handy when we needed to move stuff.

A tiny guesthouse with a warm staff, cold water, a shared kitchen and AC, all just a few steps from the beach. Across the road there's a supermarket and several restaurants nearby, and the place was dead quiet at night during our June visit.

The place sits right in the center of town yet stays surprisingly quiet, making it a nice base for getting around.
