“Convenient and ok for one night but I'm glad that the weather was relatively mild.”

The place was convenient and just fine for a single night, but I got a message saying the key was in the terrace postbox with no extra details—no idea where the entrance or my room was, which felt odd. Also, the room had no heating controls or radiators, only the bathroom had heat, so it was a bit chilly for my taste, even though I usually like it warm.

The hotel sits right in the centre of Büren an der Aare, yet we booked two rooms on the booking site and arrived to find only a single double room available; although they refunded the price difference, it was never explained why our two‑room reservation wasn’t honoured.

The staff were friendly. My room was right on the main street and extremely noisy. On the second floor there was no air conditioning, so it was scorching hot; the night was not very pleasant.

“Nie wieder und schon gar nicht im heissem Sommer!”

Our room was spacious, spotless and the beds were comfortable, plus we had a hotel parking space and the property was centrally located, but the curtain rod hung down from the ceiling, the décor was old‑fashioned though clean, the shower door stuck, there was no lockable bike storage, and the inn sat on a very noisy arterial road with cobblestones, making it impossible to sleep with the windows open; the outside temperature hit 36 °C and the room felt no cooler than 30 °C, the room wasn’t cleaned on Monday, and after a dreadful first night of heat and noise we left after 4 am and spent the rest of the night outdoors by the beautiful Aare, while we never used the room on the second night and would like a refund for what we paid.
