The owners were incredibly friendly and gave us plenty of tour suggestions; everything was perfect and even better than we had imagined, the coffee was excellent and the setting was gorgeous. I would definitely recommend it.

The place is very well kept and the breakfast offers a good variety, but the TV in the room could be larger.

We were warmly greeted by Heloísa and Mr. Eustáquio, the owners of the lodge, and Heloísa was always ready to give us all the details about tours and answer questions; the cleanliness of every area was impressive—very tidy and organized—and the location is fantastic. The shower is small and the water pressure is weak, and the black coffee at breakfast was too weak.

Pousada Capão da Coruja is an excellent lodging option; it sits in a great spot, a short drive from Barão de Cocais, Catas Altas, Santa Bárbara and the Caraça Sanctuary, and there are several good restaurants nearby, some within walking distance. The lodge has a great setup with a pool, comfortable rooms, direct contact with nature, and a beautiful view of Serra do Caraça, and the hosts are very attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. The only area that could be improved is breakfast—it’s good but could match the lodge’s high standard.
