8.0/10. A very beautiful hotel with a magnificent terrace for breakfast and lounging by the pool. The décor is British style, recalling Winston Churchill’s visit in 1950. The staff were attentive to the guests. However, our stay coincided with the Black Saber Festival, and our room was only 50 m from the stage, with music until 3 a.m. for four nights and cleaning staff blowing fans at 7 a.m., so the nights weren’t the best. The hotel warned us about this festival 15 days before arrival (we had booked four months earlier), which was too late to find another place because hotels were full at that time. The receptionist mentioned that there are parties all year in Camara de Lobos, making it a lively village and one of the most charming on the island’s south coast, but you shouldn’t expect calm there—bring earplugs instead.
