“Perfect location for Giza, Saqarra, Dahshur and Memphis visits”
The spot is perfect for visiting the pyramids from Giza to Dahshur and the GEM, with a cheap grocery store right across the street. The family running the place is very friendly, and one of the sons drove us to Dahshur and Saqarra at a reasonable rate. The room matches the photos, featuring a fridge/freezer (freeze a large bottle of water for the heat), AC, and a kitchenette. From the balcony outside the door you get a great view of the middle Giza pyramid and a partial view of the other two. We were given water bottles. The building sits on a side street a long block from the main road, so while you can’t avoid cars honking and dogs barking, it’s minimal and quiet after midnight—better than the times I stayed in central Cairo. Bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive. They helped, and the lack of a lift/elevator made baggage a bit of a hassle. The only improvement I’d suggest is replacing the showerhead directly above the sink with a handheld one—though that might be a personal preference. Other than that, it was great.
