The balcony was nice. Everything else was a mess. After booking, the host sent a message saying she lived in the apartment. Whether we missed it or it wasn’t listed, we’re not sure. Because a booking glitch on São Miguel forced us to find something last minute and options were scarce, we accepted. The room is close to the beach and town but faces a depressing parking lot. It’s basic and impersonal; the drawers still had leftover cross‑stitch and the hangers were untidy. The bathroom is shared with the host, it’s large and damp, and the shower is in a tub. There’s no outlet for the tub, so you can’t soak. The kitchen is usable, though a dirty pan sometimes sits on the stove. The host is usually away, but one day she was sick at home and didn’t keep enough distance. Nights were very pricey, over €100 per night, with no breakfast, no tourist info, and no extras like a water bottle or snacks. After a few days our other booking finally worked out, so when the host of that B&B called where we stayed, we didn’t know how quickly we had to move. Breakfast was included, we got extra towels for the thermal baths or the beach, a discount was arranged for whale watching, and the hosts were clear and helpful.

Cecília was a very sweet host, kind in every way, even lending me panthenol when I burned my back. The apartment sits in a nice spot with parking right in front of the house. A shop is just one minute away, and the beach is a ten‑minute walk. I’d definitely come back!

The host was friendly and the apartment had plenty of space. It was relatively noisy because it’s right on the street, and communicating in English was difficult.

It was clean, but there were no towels at first, so we had to ask for them. We were shocked to have to share the apartment with the host, even though our booking said we had the whole place. We have screenshots and tried to explain, but no help was given, so we ended up stuck with her and lost our privacy.
