Excellent family run ryokan. Lovely clean rooms that showed both the history with some modern comforts. Very friendly host who shared some great insights with locals and what to see. Lovely private onsen. Generous room size compared to other places we stayed. Easy parking on site. Would highly recommend

Words cannot describe how absolutely wonderful and welcoming Ryokan Moringen is! The rooms are incredibly spacious, traditionally styled, spotlessly clean, and filled with natural light, complete with a delightful welcome tea upon arrival. And that view over the beautiful inner garden was simply breathtaking. Shumpei is an incredible host, remarkably kind, endlessly warm, and always smiling. On top of that, he is an exceptional cook! If you stay here, you absolutely must experience his dinner—I promise you will not regret it. The property also features two beautiful, pristine, and comforting onsens. I would also like to thank the entire team at dinner and reception—the girls are so sweet, friendly, and always smiling! The location is perfect: everything you need is nearby, including supermarkets and other lovely dining options. You can enjoy a peaceful walk along the beach, and the town of Amino itself is genuinely beautiful. To top it all off, our host went completely above and beyond. He personally accompanied us to help rent a car, acting as our translator. Even more incredibly, when I lost my wallet during the trip and it was found by the police, he personally took care of having it shipped to me in Tokyo. A 10/10 rating is simply not enough for this place—it easily deserves a 100, believe me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I could stay very quietly, enjoyed the retro vibe, and the food was delicious, with no complaints.
