The JO Hotel Marano Lagunare, a family-run hotel, is centrally located in Marano Lagunare, next to the Church of San Martino. It features a wellness centre with outdoor hot tub, sauna, and Turkish bath, plus free parking, WiFi, and air-conditioned rooms with LCD TVs. Buffet breakfast with homemade cakes and fresh fruit is served daily. Boat trips and transfers to nearby Lignano Sabbiadoro and airports are available.

The best part of the hotel was the staff—friendly, smiling, and helpful—which made our stay in Marano the highlight of our trip to Friuli. The restaurant was another pleasant surprise with delicious food, so I definitely recommend this hotel for a visit to beautiful Marano.

The location in town is nice, and the man at reception was very kind. However, the breakfast was disappointing: the scrambled eggs and sausages were cold, one tomato wasn’t fresh, and some cucumbers were partially dried. The coffee tasted weak by Italian standards. The ventilation in the toilet would turn on sporadically at night. The safe in the wardrobe was positioned so that only a quarter was visible from the outside and it couldn’t be used properly; additionally, the whole locking bolt would come out if the key wasn’t turned in the correct direction. The address is confusing when arriving via Google.

I’d love to come back again. The lack of German channels is a real drawback, especially in bad weather and winter—quite a big shortcoming.
