The location is ideal for sailors, with a wide range of high‑quality rental gear available. The food is excellent, and the staff are always cheerful and willing to help. The bed is very comfortable. I couldn’t stay any longer than the days I booked.

The pool was spotless and spacious, the kite gear was good, the staff were incredibly friendly, free drinking water and a healthy, tasty breakfast made it ideal for families, and the restaurant served great food. On the downside, prices for the restaurant and kite school were a bit higher than similar places nearby. Also, during our two‑week stay in August the wind in the De Silva lagoon was consistently gusty, making kite lessons tricky; a 25‑minute drive to another lagoon offered much calmer conditions, and the wind should improve in winter.

The resort feels nice and is geared toward surfing, the pool is delightful, and the massage was excellent (highly recommended!). The rooms look different from the photos, and the beach isn’t really usable except for surfing.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, and the water‑sport school was well organized; both the hotel area and rooms stayed very clean. One thing to keep in mind: massages require cash payment in euros, and the therapist was male; the closest ATM is about a 10‑minute tuk‑tuk ride into the village, and you’ll encounter plenty of insects, which is normal in Sri Lanka, but the room itself remained spotless.

The lagoon location is ideal for kiteboarding, the staff are extremely friendly and always helpful, the camp vibe feels very friendly and almost family‑like, and you quickly strike up conversations with other guests.
