The location was good, especially for those heading to Pines Beach Club; the shuttle bus comes right to the front of the accommodation, and there’s a convenience store across the street, all at a great price. However, a large earth‑construction building is right next to the entrance, and the dust from the construction blows straight into the room. Because the windows aren’t double‑glazed, the dust settled on the floor and even on the bed sheets after I showered and walked a few steps to bed—an alarming sight. The second floor might be better, but the first floor is definitely something to avoid. The dust was so intense that I wondered if it’s even appropriate to sell rooms like this. They say there’s no construction on weekends; if you’re considering staying, opt for the second floor or book a weekend. This guesthouse is the only negative memory I have of Janggu.
“I don't like to have business with this kind of owner”
The ground‑floor room was spotless and the AC worked well, but the second‑floor room had a hole in the ceiling that let street noise in all night. The shower was absurd: water splashed everywhere because the combined shower‑toilet setup—typical in Bali—let you sit on the toilet while being showered. Traffic noise was constant due to the ceiling hole. At the last minute the owner changed the deal and added a child fee for a tiny sofa, so we moved to Boutique Inn 100 m away, which was better for the child and didn’t try to cheat us. The staff, as usual in Bali, were friendly but only spoke a few words of English and seemed geared toward Indonesian guests. Cleaning arrived at 7 am each morning, singing a song by my door, while noisy construction was ongoing. Nothing terrible, but I wouldn’t return.
Everything was perfect.
I loved the place—clean, simple, and stylish, and the location was perfect!
The room was clean and nice, and the location was close to many cafés and shops, so I’d recommend it. However, it’s next to a road, so expect loud motorbike traffic at night, and construction is happening, so mornings can be noisy too.
