“An enjoyable stay in Ubud.”
The hostel surprised me in a good way; like many other Balinese houses, it has its own small temple inside. Many animals were present, some caged and others free. The staff greeted us with smiles, showed us a mixed room with four bunk beds, a toilet with a shower, and two basins outside. There was ample space for luggage, and safes with a lock and key were available for a 100k fee, which was returned when the towels were returned. The room was spacious and clean, the bed had curtains, lights, and phone charging for both European and Indonesian plugs. The A/C worked well, though we had a minor issue that was fixed immediately. The mattress and pillows were comfortable for me, and the duvet was sufficient with the A/C on. Breakfast was delicious, offering four or five options each day and great Indonesian coffee. The common area next to the kitchen is nice, with a big table and hot or cold water, tea, or coffee on demand. There is also a small pool for relaxing. The location was perfect for me, a short walk to the center, with minimal neighborhood noise yet plenty of shops and restaurants on the same street. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful; we did the Ubud tour with them, and a good driver named Gori showed us around. The only downside was the stairs to the upper bunk beds, which were horrible and hurt your feet when going up and down, and the waste bin for used toilet paper inside the toilet seemed too small for four people in my opinion.
