The wood-burning fireplace in our room was a lovely touch, especially since it got chilly in early August. The staff at Shumbalala really know what they're doing – our driver, Emilo, went above and beyond to get us into all the best spots. Overall, it was a top-notch experience.

Thornybush really delivers on the safari experience, with knowledgeable guides, great food, and a comfortable atmosphere that lets you feel like you're right in the midst of the action. The chalets are well-equipped, with a plunge pool and private deck, and the views of the watering hole are stunning. My only quibble is that the chalets could use a bit more natural light.

This lodge is seriously the best I've ever stayed at - it's got everything you could want, from incredible game drives to sumptuous food and lodging. Thornybush is a great reserve for spotting animals, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We were really impressed with the quality of service and accommodations, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safari experience.

Shumbalala's location inside the Thornbush reserve is unbeatable, with a water hole right in front of the lodge. The staff are friendly and attentive, and Andri, Danielle, Iordi, and Fumani went out of their way to make our stay special. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back.
