“Un séjour plein de charme à la Casona de Ucieda”

We loved staying at the Casona de Ucieda; it’s a great spot to explore Cantabria’s mountains, forests, and sea. The house sits right beside many trails in the Saja-Besaya natural park, and other beautiful natural areas are easily reachable. What made the stay even better was the warm welcome, the hosts’ natural friendliness, and smooth communication. The house exudes charm, the rooms are very cozy, and everything is impeccably clean. If we return to Cantabria, we’ll almost certainly stay here again.

“Bonita, aislada y algo descuidada.”

The house is pretty, and the breakfast is spot‑on for the price. The room was very small, cramped, and full of cobwebs on the beams at head height; the bathroom partition door didn’t close well, and the hot water dropped quickly—after 3 minutes the cold tap shut off completely. I don’t know if it was an oversight or indifference, but they didn’t even ask for personal details. Don’t eat at the bars next door!

Excellent location for visiting the park and getting around the area, yet it feels very family‑friendly and calm. Two restaurants nearby let you dine or grab a drink without a car, and Fermín is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast comes with coffee and toast for €3, a great way to start the day with energy at a good price.
