We stayed in a cottage with my ten‑month‑old son and my partner, and the place was very comfortable – it even had a kitchen, fridge and bathroom, which was a lifesaver for us traveling with a child. All the basic cookware – plates, pans, pots – were provided, though there were no seasonings, and you could also borrow board games and a high‑chair (the check‑in only gave a brief rundown, so it helps to read the information posted in the room). You could join a vegetable‑picking session at either 11:00 or 16:00, and there was a fire pit where they handed out marshmallows. The “Karin no Yu” area turned out to be larger than expected and offered unlimited manga and magazine reading; during the day it was quiet with guests leafing through comics. After checking out of the cottage we received a ticket that could be used later, and because everything was included with no extra fees, visiting in the low‑price season felt like a real bargain. A two‑week‑only firefly tour was also available, and we got to see the fireflies.
