“Desilusão total”
The room’s view was good, but I never expected to give this hotel a 2.0/10. It’s part of a chain I’ve always trusted in Portugal, so picking it for a three‑day family trip felt easy. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The main issue was constant noise, 24 hours a day, that especially disturbed us at night. We filed a formal complaint in the hotel’s complaints book at 4:18 am. The staff said the sound could be from the ventilation or air‑conditioning. Initially, the employee implied the noise didn’t exist, but then walked to our room’s door to check its intensity. His attitude made it seem like this wasn’t a new problem for the hotel. He also mentioned the hotel was full and no other rooms were available. No alternative or compensation was offered. At checkout, no one asked how the stay had gone or offered an apology. I couldn’t speak to the manager either, who allegedly was absent the whole time. Other failures included: the toilet leaked (adding another annoying sound), a bathrobe was torn, hair lay on the kitchenette’s edges, and the single sofa’s stuffing was ripped. The food was well prepared, but the buffet refill at breakfast and dinner was extremely slow. The dining room was clearly inadequate for a full hotel, with long waits for a table. Moreover, drinks bought during meals couldn’t be charged to the room bill and had to be paid immediately by bank transfer or cash, which is inconvenient for guests (and a bit odd!).
