Perfect for a one‑night stay, comfortable, affordable, and really close to the boat! Unfortunately we had an electrical outage, but it wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Wi‑Fi was slow and we struggled to get water for 30 minutes, yet I would still book again.

Being very close to Pakbeng port lets you prepare for your boat trip with plenty of time in the morning. You can reserve a sandwich for breakfast and they sell sweet buns. Even though it’s a rural town, the shower works. This facility isn’t related, but the slow boat from Luang Prabang to Pakbeng took about 10 hours, so we arrived around 7 pm. Visiting during the rainy season in a quiet period, many restaurants around closed by 8 pm, so I had to eat dinner early with a tired body and had to buy supplies for tomorrow’s boat trip.

For the price, this is a great stay. The staff are polite and accommodating, and the rooms are clean. It’s right by the slow boat pier so great for a one‑night stay. They also offer breakfast pastries in their café. The tap was a little loose in our bathroom and the water stopped working for a little while.

I chose this place because it’s the closest to the Slow Boat Pier – a 3‑minute walk uphill or downhill to the river. The bed had new linens. The family who runs this place is very kind and the bakery items are fantastic! The place definitely serves its purpose as a convenient overnight stay while taking the two‑day Slow Boat journey down the Mekong. They certainly don’t expect anyone to stay more than a night as there’s absolutely nothing in the room except beds – not even a table, wall hooks, or a place to put anything except for me on the extra bed. The takeaway sandwich was also light on anything beyond the bread loaf.
