The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast items—bread rolls and eggs—came straight from the region, literally from the bakery next door and the local producer. The fresh onion bread was especially tasty. They do emphasize regional products, which is commendable, but charging an extra two euros for a Rûhrei is odd. They justify it by saying it isn’t from a Tetra‑Pack and is freshly prepared, but that doesn’t justify the surcharge in my opinion. No milk alternatives for vegan guests.

“Gut gelegen, aber kein Komfort”

The hotel is nice and centrally located. You get precise check‑in information beforehand. The staff were very friendly at check‑out. The room had a fridge with an energy‑saving button. The room smelled strongly of drains and was stuffy, so I had to keep the window open to sleep. In the morning at 6:30 am loud noises were made outside the hotel—maybe a display or a trash bin, I’m not sure—so I could only sleep with the window closed, which was uncomfortable. Overall the room felt a bit worn, and the pillows urgently need replacing.
