It was warm and welcoming, a perfect spot for us and our dog, with exceptional supper and breakfast, and a great mix of a local pub that still welcomes outsiders.

The accommodation was very cozy; I went to Harbottle to see the Drake stone, and the place is about a 40‑minute walk from the Drake Stone and Harbottle lake. The room was pretty nice and comfortable, had a small private patio, great TV, bed, and a very good show. The English breakfast was absolutely proper and delicious, the breakfast room with fireplace was very comfortable and exactly what I needed in the morning. The staff was very nice and the pub inside has great beer (I arrived too late for the food). I could use some ground coffee for breakfast, not a fan of instant, and mustard is a must‑have; English Colman’s mustard is such a classic and should be available at every breakfast table.

“Comfortable for one night.. wouldn’t of wanted to stay any longer”

The breakfast was great, but I couldn’t open any windows and the shower needed some work.

Breakfast was decent and cooked to order, but I’d like better bread and fresh pastries; the small cereal packets are understandable for waste reduction.
