The breakfast was tasty, the kitchen was pleasant, and the common area was cozy. The lockers in the room were large and the beds had curtains for privacy. The bathrooms were very clean and hygienic, and the soap provided was a nice bonus. The shared shower in one of the rooms offered little privacy, whereas other rooms did better. The bar at the hostel wasn’t very welcoming; it was mostly drunk locals. The shared bedroom smelled of smoke because guests smoked and brought the odor inside, which the hostel couldn’t do much about.

I’ve stayed here twice; it’s a great hostel with a comfy communal space that makes it easy to chat with other friendly travelers. The location is excellent and the morning staff are delightful. After a long trip, the night staff member was not very welcoming and did the bare minimum, which was very different from my experience last year. The dorm room was tiny, but thankfully it wasn’t full, so there was space for luggage. The person on my side took up all the floor space, leaving no room. There was no lift.

The mix of guests isn’t necessarily pilgrims, unless I’m mistaken… these people treat the place like a hotel.
