“Glad we only stayed the one night”
Nothing really. The whole house is cluttered with the owner’s collections. I can’t speak for the other rooms, but the one called Daniel, above the kitchen at the front of the house, was terrible—dust and cobwebs everywhere, hard to believe it could be so bad. I had to clear the clutter off the bedside cabinets before using them. The en‑suite bathroom had no door, just a folding screen that could be pulled across, and it was dirty; I had to clean the washbasin before using it, and we avoided the shower because the space was horrible. My partner was doubtful about sleeping there at all, but we only booked one night. There was also surprisingly quite a lot of traffic noise. The swimming pool was not very clean, and the spacious garden could have been nice; part of it could have been used for parking but it wasn’t. Breakfast was mediocre—it was just okay, and no great effort had gone into it.
“Le charme de l'accueil britannique”
The host, Mme HUDSON, welcomed us with a lot of kindness and even drove us to the nearby supermarket (we were walking along the Camino path). Her house is nice, decorated in a British style, and despite the nearby road, the night was quiet; she did everything to make our stay pleasant. No complaints.
I liked the good breakfast, the garden with its terrace, and the hostess’s warm welcome.
“Très bon séjour.”
The welcome was good. The hours were flexible. The breakfast was hearty. The amenities available (coffee, fridge, …) were fine. Nothing.
“excellent séjour avec délicieux petit déjeuner”
The breakfast was great, with delicious tea served in a beautiful English porcelain teapot and fresh fruit, especially strawberries to enjoy with the yogurts.
