“Das La Meridiana ist im Sommer wie im Winter eine Perle.”

The location of La Meridiana is absolutely excellent. Montespluga is clearly a winter sports resort, evident from the village’s infrastructure. Right next to the hotel, a gondola takes you to the alpine winter world. In summer, almost all hotels and restaurants close, but there are excellent spots in the village center near La Meridiana for summer tourists. At the reception during check‑in, a young Italian woman greeted me and announced: “I’ve reserved an upgrade room for you!” I was very surprised and delighted, and the rest of the service in the hotel matched that first impression. The breakfast was also excellent, with a standing chef for egg dishes and extras. The buffet was perfectly presented and left no desire unmet. Even the oven‑warm pastries for Swiss guests were beautifully displayed =D. The entrance to the hotel is somewhat elaborate. Although there’s a nice new square in front of the hotel where you can stop to unload luggage, parking for all kinds of vehicles requires a modest fee, either in the adjacent parking garage under the gondola if spaces are available or somewhere outside on a village parking lot. From the front square, you then climb 20 steps to the hotel entrance. The hotelier explained that there is, upon request, a front‑street entrance with a lift so that people with a lot of luggage or wheelchair users can easily reach the reception.
