Location, location, location! A 3‑minute walk to Hanoi Cathedral and about a 10‑minute walk to Ho Kiem Lake. Exceptional staff – look for Lucas. Comfortable beds, ice‑cold AC, elevator. The property has seen better days; its age is showing a bit. Some mold in the bathroom. Take property photos in the app with a grain of salt.

The hotel’s location is at the edge of the Old Quarter, just behind Saint Joseph church. A mini fridge and the room size. The bathroom is outdated and poorly maintained; the fixtures barely hold. The shower water drains poorly and leaks everywhere. The water heater leaked onto the toilet. The manager was content to wipe… the sheets were stained. No soft lighting, only a harsh single light.

The location is practical and great, the hotel street is sweet. Many massage salons are nearby, you’re quickly at the lake and everywhere else in the Old Quarter – that probably applies to all hotels in the area. The hotel staff were always friendly. The reception wasn’t staffed continuously, but since a number is listed you can always reach someone. I think what made my stay the most uncomfortable was the loudness. I felt as if not only the windows were always open, but also the room door. Everything on the street (people, cars, honking) was constantly loud and everything in the hotel could be heard. The mattress was also not very comfortable, but it was the noise that really made sleeping difficult. The room was a bit dated, the curtain wasn’t attached in all places, but it wasn’t dirty, just a little dusty and mainly just old. The hotel can’t do anything about the cockroaches – they thrive in this climate – but I was still startled. My rating of 6 comes from the fact that I didn’t feel very comfortable in the room.
