The toilets are outside, so you sweat when it’s hot and get soaked when it rains; the path to the villa is awful, full of puddles; the villa sits in the middle of the forest, so there are many bugs at night because the doors aren’t sealed properly; and on top of all that, the staff are the worst—someone broke in at night and they didn’t even check if we were okay, just trying to clear their guilt.

The villa is spectacular and the owners are very kind; it’s in a quiet area of Siargao and worth it if you’re looking for peace. The house has all the conveniences you could want.
