The cottage is rural and traditional but fully renovated, unique and fully equipped. A real gem, we felt at home. The owners were super hospitable and efficient. Highly recommended, a peaceful and authentic corner of Rhodes.
“Bellissimo (ma occhio al letto e al bagno)”
The property sits on the outskirts of a small inland village of Rhodes. A 40‑minute drive gets you to the airport, 45 to the eastern coast and 30 to the western coast on fairly good roads. The village is charming, with several taverns, a gas station, a museum, and mainly it’s surrounded by nature and silence. The house delivers everything listed, and the parking is right next to the property. The climate control, fridge and water heater work great, and the sofa bed opens in 10 seconds. The neighbourhood is SUPER quiet, and having breakfast on the outdoor table at dawn in total silence is fantastic. The double bed is about 1.7 m high, so there are four steps to climb; if you get up often at night it might not be the most comfortable. The same applies to the outdoor bathroom: its door is next to the house entrance and the road is very lightly used, but you still have to leave the house. The bathroom ceiling is low (about 1.95 m) and it gets very hot. The shower area is tiny and lacks a curtain, so it’s very likely to splash onto the floor.
The host was very friendly, showing us everything and explaining how it all works. The house had everything needed for a quick meal. It was a delight when the host left water in the fridge and biscuits for the kids. I definitely recommend it.
Very calm and safe, everyone was very nice. The only downside is that the village is small, so there aren’t many shops.
