The staff were very friendly and remembered our names; they surprised me with a little cake and sang happy birthday even though I hadn’t mentioned it, and the suite was comfortable and clean with a bath, lounge, and balcony that added to the comfort. They might need some upgrades, but I guess that’s coming soon because of the work being done.

“Nope, not good”

The staff really tried to fix our situation, but we were so unhappy with the room we booked that we immediately booked a room at a neighboring resort we’d stayed at before. The room was absolutely awful: as soon as we walked in there was an overwhelming smell of mustiness and mold, the furniture looked like it had come straight from the 1920’s, and my girlfriend joked about a strange closet door in the bathroom saying, “I don’t think we want to open that—George Washington might be taking a nap in there!” She even started having trouble breathing in the room. The staff offered to send housekeeping up, which wouldn’t help, and then offered to show us a different room, but by then we had already booked a room at the next‑door resort, which was lovely. To Risata’s credit, they reached out to me with apologies immediately. It would’ve been nice if they offered a refund on the room, but they didn’t. It was so bad that we opted to pay for two rooms for three nights.

“Better hotels close by”

Not much to say; the breakfast location was bad and the rooms are getting very old.
