I liked how quirky it was, but the instructions were just on a piece of paper, with no info on how to use appliances. The cupboards were filled with items presumably left by other guests. The water tank ran out and I couldn’t shower. The taps were extremely loud, and it wasn’t very clean at all. The crockery was in bad condition, and the hand axe for chopping wood was blunt. The toilet situation was hit or miss, especially with the temperature. The compost toilet smelled, and sawdust got everywhere. There was very little information or instructions. Overall the finish was very crude. It could have been better with the right café and attention. The owner didn’t answer the phone and offered a partial refund for the shower issue, then withdrew it, claiming it was “after check‑out.” Access was not easy; there was no plank or access via stern.

“Never again!!!!”

The only positive was the location. The toilet had a flower pot next to it full of sawdust that you’re apparently supposed to sprinkle on your poop in the composting toilet. I didn’t ask what you’re supposed to do with the pee. The fireplace was the only heat source, and there were no matches, so you have to ask before arriving. The windows were left open to let air in so you don’t die from asphyxiation; I used toilet paper to close them. The shower had a shelf halfway into it—if you’re big, use a cup to get your lower body wet! You can’t keep a charger in the outlet next to the bathroom door and open the door. At 2 am if you need to pee while charging your phone, you’ll have to unplug, pee, and plug it back in. To get either outlet to work, walk to the toilet, look at the wall, bottom right for a knob, pull the knob, reach your hand in, and turn on the inverter. Be ready to hear every footstep and conversation of everyone walking by! You’ll get the joy of hearing the tires of every car that drives over the nearby bridge, every siren, every helicopter—because there’s no insulation or barrier. There’s a log inside what I think they’re calling the Terrace, to get into the boat. You’ll be standing at the end of the bed to use the lavatory! Go ahead and use the mattress for your vanity while brushing your teeth as there is nothing else there to put your overnight bag on.

The owner was absolutely brilliant; we had to contact them because of an issue and they handled it flawlessly. The place could use some TLC, especially the very noisy taps, and getting in and out was a hassle due to overgrown weeds on the bank.

The location was incredible, the boat was beautiful and so comfy. Nothing else; it was simply amazing.
