Step House Hotel

I was in Borris and the spot was spot on—just a short stroll to great pubs and other sights. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast tasted really good.

The location worked well for the Borris festival of ideas, the room was very comfortable, and the restaurant served very good food. The staff were friendly, and we’d definitely return to stay longer. We did have to leave very early in the morning, and it would have been nice to have something to eat before we went.

We liked the bar, the dining room, and the location. The room was pretty poor, to be honest. We asked someone to help open the window but no one came. Eventually we were moved to another room, which turned out to be fine and helpful.

Breakfast was delicious, and the bar staff were exceptional. We finished an utterly enjoyable evening. Service was excellent across the board—from the bar, reception, housekeeping, and breakfast. The only downside was the lack of air‑con, which isn’t usually needed in Ireland, but during an especially warm period it would have been a nice extra touch.
