“Good location and modern residency.”
This new facility opened around Jan 2026 has about 10 rooms. The furniture and fittings are modern. It’s just off the main road from Vridachalam to Pennadam on a small street, about 2.5 Km from the train station. Reception staff were very courteous and helped carry bags upstairs, booked a local taxi, etc. There’s a solar water heater for the bath that worked well even at 5.30 am. A nice large sit‑out on the first floor features a beautiful 7‑horses tile painting. Parking for 3 cars is available at the building entrance, which is very good. The room size was a bit small even for a single person, with a small dresser. The bed was King/Queen and could sleep two, but there wasn’t much space around it, and there was no table for luggage. Mosquitoes were abundant because of an open “ditch” carrying wastewater just past the residency—bring Odomos or similar. There should be hooks on the bathroom door, and the towel rack is too small and not reachable for average‑height guests. The main issue at night was the constant howling of street traffic throughout the night; if you’re sensitive to noise, you won’t get a peaceful rest. There’s no lift—rooms are on the first and second floors, so you have to climb stairs. For the room size and town size, the rent was a bit high. There aren’t many good places to stay in and around Vridachalam town (except lodges near the bus stand), as far as I could find. No food is available on site—you can order or go into town where there are several veg/non‑veg restaurants. Overall, it’s a convenient place for a brief stay, despite some minor issues.
